Frank Shepard Fairey (1970) is an American street artist, graphic designer, activist and illustrator who emerged from the skate board scene. He rose to fame with his “Andre the Giant Has a Posse” (… OBEY…) sticker campaign and rose to prominence in America's 2008 presidential election for his Barack Obama “Hope” poster.
The Boston Institute of Contemporary Art calls him one of the most famous and influential street artists. His work hangs in the Smithsonian, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the National Portrait Gallery in Washington and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, among others.
